W041 – Yield Ahead

Where the Stop or Yield sign cannot be seen for the recommended clear visibility distance in advance of the junction, a Stop Ahead or Yield Ahead sign, Signs W 040 or W 041 respectively, should be provided to warn of the hidden junction. Nevertheless, these signs should only be used where considered necessary: it is preferable to provide the required visibility to the Stop or Yield sign. Signs W 040 and W 041 shall only be used in conjunction with a Supplementary Plate P 001 showing the distance to the junction.
