F800 – Tunnel Name & Length

CE Certified Road sign manufactured in Knocktopher, Kilkenny. CE certification is a required standard for Road Signs in the EU since 2013. National Roads- Unlit Area: RA1 if AADT<3500, RA2 if AADT is >3500. Lit Area: RA2. Regional Roads- Unlit Area:RA1. Lit Area: RA2. Local Roads- Unlit and Lit Area: RA1. Roadworks- Unlit and Lit Area: RA2. Where a tunnel is 500m or more in length, the length of the tunnel must be indicated on a sign at or near the entrance. This may either be warning Sign W 162, Tunnel, with Supplementary Plate P 002 to indicate the length or be a Tunnel Name and Length sign, Sign F 800. At tunnels less than 500m long, Sign F 800 may be erected if desired. At such locations the tunnel length need not be shown.
